Nestled near the serene town of Shujalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Roots – The Jungle Camp offers a tranquil retreat from the bustling city life. Shujalpur, conveniently located 145 kilometers from Indore and 90 kilometers from the capital city of Bhopal, boasts excellent connectivity by both road and rail.
Our camp is strategically located by the riverside on our ancestral land, known locally as “Fer.” The name derives from the horseshoe-shaped river that encircles this sprawling 100-acre property, giving it an island-like charm.
Meet The Owner
Managed by Rohit Deshmukh, a dedicated nature enthusiast, Roots – The Jungle Camp has been nurtured over the past decade. Prior to settling in Shujalpur, Rohit enjoyed success as an entrepreneur, operating businesses in insurance and computer training in Indore. However, his deep-seated passion for nature and heritage ultimately led him to relocate.
Rohit’s affinity for nature and adventure travel inspired him to develop the land thoughtfully, preserving its environmental integrity. Today, our camp boasts orchards teeming with over 1500 guava trees, 500 orange trees, 1000 Sagwan trees, 200 mango trees, and 200 Sitafal trees. Additionally, a 1.2-kilometer stretch along the riverbank remains untouched, fostering a rich natural habitat for over 80 species of birds.
An avid biker, Rohit has explored the length and breadth of India on his Royal Enfield Himalayan, embarking on solo and group journeys to Ladakh, Uttaranchal, Himachal, the Northeast, and Goa. His love for biking inspired the creation of this camping site, offering visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in nature and escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Beyond traditional camping, our site features luxury swiss tents by the riverside and mud cottages within our farm land, equipped with modern amenities to ensure a perfect blend of adventure and comfort.
Activities abound at our riverside and farm stay, from enjoying delectable meals at the Jungle Cafe Restaurant to partaking in tractor rides, cricket matches, handball, and volleyball. Soon, we’ll introduce kayaking and boat rides. Alternatively, guests can simply relax and interact with our resident dogs, goats, ducks, rabbits, and cows.
